Cryptocurrency hack and scam losses in December reached $29 million, the lowest since 2024
Losses from cryptocurrency scams, vulnerabilities and hacks gradually decreased in the last few months of 2024, with December being the month with the fewest hacks of the year. Blockchain security company CertiK said in a Dec. 31 X post that known losses from vulnerabilities, hacks and scams in December were $28.6 million, compared to $63.8 million in November and $115.8 million in October. According to the company, vulnerabilities caused most of the losses, with attackers stealing $26.7 million in December.
