16 years ago today, the story of Bitcoin began. Back in the afternoon of January 3, 2009 (January 4, 02:15:05 Beijing time), Satoshi Nakamoto successfully mined the first block of Bitcoin, the Genesis Block, and received a reward of 50 BTC.

Today, as the Bitcoin network continues to grow, it has reached block height 877,566.

What’s even more interesting is that in the data of this genesis block, Satoshi Nakamoto left a headline from the front page of the day (The Times) - "The Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks" (The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks).

It is evident that Satoshi Nakamoto was not only mining but also digging, suggesting that the birth of Bitcoin was meant to break free from the constraints of traditional financial systems and bring new hope to the world.

Looking back, 16 years have passed, and Bitcoin has transformed from a 'niche' item into a global financial giant.

Who could have imagined that this small digital currency would create such a huge ripple on the world financial stage? Satoshi Nakamoto may have foreseen all of this long ago, while we can only continue to follow in its footsteps towards an unknown future.
