Since Elon Musk bought X (formerly known as Twitter) for $44 billion, the social platform has been undergoing a dramatic transformation. In 2025, X will officially embark on the journey to become a "super APP", bringing a new experience that combines payment services, artificial intelligence (AI) and streaming video.

X CEO Linda Yaccarino recently issued a notice announcing that the Deep integration with Grok. She pointed out:

In 2025, X will connect every user in unprecedented ways - from X TV to X Money to Grok, with more exciting features coming soon.

Challenge the payment market and compete with PayPal

The layout of X’s payment function will begin in 2024. Although it is delayed than the original launch time, the efforts behind it cannot be underestimated. Currently, X has successfully obtained financial transmission licenses in multiple states in the United States, including California, Illinois and Virginia. These developments pave the way for the future launch of "X Money" and give X the strength to compete head-on with payment giant PayPal.

According to analysis by market experts, the introduction of the payment function in X will not only improve users' interactive stickiness, but also make transactions as simple as sharing posts, which is expected to further consolidate X's position as a digital interaction center.

Will there be support for cryptocurrencies?

Although X has not announced the specific operational details of "X Money", the cryptocurrency community has begun to speculate whether this payment tool will support digital assets, such as Musk's preferred Dogecoin (DOGE).

This speculation is not groundless. Musk has always been a supporter of cryptocurrency, and his other company, Tesla, currently accepts DOGE as a payment method for some goods.

In addition, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong also suggested that X should consider integrating the stablecoin USDC into the payment system and emphasized the utility and potential of USDC in payment transactions.
