Exchanges delist USDT before MiCA
The MiCA rules require stablecoin issuers to obtain certain licenses to operate in the European Union. Tether apparently has not met the strict requirements of MiCA, which could jeopardize its future in the jurisdiction.
As a result, European exchanges have begun to delist Tether's stablecoin USDT in anticipation of regulatory crackdown.
In response, according to CoinMarkCap, the market capitalization of USDT fell from 140.5 billion dollars to 138 billion dollars over the last week, the largest drop in a year of continuous growth.
