Guide to Securing Your Stock Market Accounts
Although trading on the stock market offers potentially high returns, it also brings cybersecurity risks. It is very important to take the following precautions to ensure your account security:
Strong Passwords and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Create complex passwords that are at least 12 characters long and include uppercase, lowercase, numbers and special characters. Avoid using the same password on different accounts.
2FA: Make sure to enable 2FA, which provides two-step access to your account. In this way, even someone who knows your password will need a code sent to your phone or a physical security key to access your account.
Secure Connection and Devices
Do not log in to your stock market transactions on untrusted networks such as Wi-Fi.
Up-to-date Antivirus: Keep an up-to-date antivirus program on your computer and scan regularly.
Use only devices that you trust and are virus-free for your stock market transactions.
Beware of Suspicious Emails and Messages
Fraudulent Emails: Do not click on emails that claim to be sent on behalf of the exchange, but look suspicious, and do not open attached files.
Social Engineering Attacks: Beware of fraudulent attempts made via phone or text.
Security Measures: Learn about the security features offered by the exchange platform. Check for features such as encryption, 2FA, and firewall.
If you think there has been a security breach on your account, contact your exchange immediately.
