đ·đș Cryptocurrency mining in Russia is about to become a new thing! With energy costs through the roof, people are going to have to get into the green practices game.
Alexey Zhikharev (an important guy at REDA) said that, with the legalization of mining, miners will have to follow environmental rules â that is, pollute less, because they are already using almost 1% of the country's energy.
đ± Russia's plan is to become carbon neutral by 2060 (a big goal, right?).
One of the solutions is nuclear energy, which they say is cleaner. And in areas where energy is scarce, miners are being "invited" to migrate to renewable sources.
After all, no one wants to stop mining, but you can't destroy the planet in the process either.
So, will this change make mining more sustainable or is it just talk?
