Track Tether:
New Trends and Market Speculations in Bitcoin Reserves!
Did you know? Tether has made big moves again! On-chain data shows that approximately 8,404 BTC were acquired yesterday, bringing its total BTC holdings to 83,758.57 BTC, worth up to $7.7 billion.
What’s going on? It turns out that wallets associated with Tether first received 7,628.92 BTC from Bitfinex marked wallets, and shortly after, an additional 775.568 BTC was transferred to that address. Although Tether has not publicly acknowledged ownership of this wallet, industry insiders speculate that it is very likely theirs.
Looking back, Tether's growth in Bitcoin reserves seems to have a special “numerical preference.” In March 2024, it acquired 8,888.88 BTC; further back, on December 31, 2023, it was also 8,888.88 BTC. The frequent appearance of the number “8” makes one wonder: could Tether increase its holdings by 484.4 BTC in 2024 to once again reach this auspicious number of 8,888.88?
Moreover, Tether’s asset portfolio is quite diverse, holding 4.8 million CRO, 2.29 million TRX, 148.46 ETH, 440,398 USDC, and 176 BNB. Analysts point out that Tether's increase in BTC reserves is likely a key strategic move in the cryptocurrency market, aimed at further solidifying its market position. Tether's next move is worth keeping an eye on!
