Only 2 days left, most exchanges in Europe will stop listing USDT (Tether) because this stablecoin does not meet the requirements of the MiCA law. However, this decision does not affect other regions.
The MiCA law (Markets in Crypto-Assets) was passed by the European Parliament in April 2023 and will come into effect in July 2024. According to regulations, companies have a period of 6 to 18 months to comply with legal standards. Nevertheless, Tether has previously stated that they do not intend to adjust their operations to comply with this law. Therefore, many exchanges in Europe have decided to delist USDT.
