Former FTX CEO Ryan Salameh's release date pushed back a year - The Daily Hodl
former #FTX CEO Ryan Salameh's prison sentence has already been reduced by a year, according to the US Federal Bureau of Prisons
Salameh's release date is now 2031. The former FTX Digital Markets CEO was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison in October and was originally scheduled to be released around April 2032.
Salameh pleaded guilty last year to charges of conspiring to defraud the Federal Election Commission (FEC) through illegal political contributions and unauthorized financing. In May, federal District Judge Louis A. Kaplan sentenced the former executive to seven and a half years in prison, but the start of his sentence was delayed due to a legal battle over charges against the mother of his children, Michelle Bond.
FTX will be released in 2022. In November 2022, founder and CEO Sam Bunkman-Fried filed for bankruptcy after failing to manage the exchange's funds amid allegations that he lent billions of dollars from customer deposits to his trading arm Alameda Research to make high-risk #cryptocurrency bets that failed.
BREAK The multibillion-dollar exchange crash sent cryptocurrency prices plummeting, and the following month, U. S. federal authorities arrested Bankman-Fried; in March, Judge Kaplan sentenced Bankman-Fried to 25 years in prison and three years of supervised release.
