According to NBC News, tech billionaire Musk is facing accusations of censorship from conservatives in the United States after several well-known right-wing accounts that criticized Musk's views on immigration said they were subsequently unable to use advanced features of Musk's social media platform "X". An investigation showed that at least 14 conservative accounts said late Thursday or Friday that X revoked their "blue V certification", depriving them of access to various advanced features, including making money through subscriptions and advertising revenue sharing. Some accounts said that the number of accounts affected was far more than that. Some conservatives said they believed that X's actions were a betrayal of Musk and were "secretly banning" his conservative critics. Musk acquired Twitter, which is today's "X", in 2022, in part because he believed that Twitter unfairly restricted conservative speech. Since then, Musk has called himself an "advocate for free speech." (Jinshi)
