🇺🇸🇯🇵 The FBI, in collaboration with the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center and Japan's National Police Agency, has linked a Korean hacker group, "TraderTraitor," to the May hack of DMM, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange. The breach resulted in a loss of over 4,000 BTC, valued at $308 million. The hackers exploited a vulnerability by impersonating a compromised employee at Ginco, a crypto wallet provider, to redirect funds to their wallets. This incident has led to DMM's liquidation, with SBI VC Trade expected to acquire it. TraderTraitor is known for using social engineering tactics to target crypto firms. 💻
