Hot Topics in the Crypto World for the Next Month
Bitcoin is about to be fully mined, with only 5% of the supply left. Important data shows that there are still 1.1 million Bitcoins to be mined. Wall Street is only buying and not selling, continuously increasing over the next few decades. The ETF was launched less than a year ago and has already bought in $100 billion. Wall Street giants are also continuously purchasing, with only 50 billion coins remaining, as the total supply is 21 million coins, many of which have been taken away by large whales; many have been abandoned. Bitcoin is becoming increasingly scarce, with only 2 million coins available on exchanges worldwide.
There has been significant progress on Ethereum staking ETFs. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce has a positive attitude, and the new chairman taking office may assist in its approval. Staking applications may be submitted by giants like BlackRock when the SEC has a new leader in January, which requires early positioning.
Wall Street's situation has reversed; while the crypto market is weak, Ethereum has gained bottom-fishing funds. The net buying before the Christmas holiday reached $131 million, which is above the average and expectations. Bitcoin's performance in December is normal, and it is expected to rise by 5% to 10% to around $130,000 from January to May next year. Ethereum's 8% pullback in December is in line with tradition, and its annual price increases from January to May have been significant, as upgrades often occur at this time. For example, this year's Cancun upgrade and last year's Shanghai upgrade can lead to surges even during a bear market, like the one in 2022.
Ethereum and its ecosystem coins will be the focus in the coming months, and the current pullback presents a good opportunity for positioning. Promising ecosystem coins include UNI, AAVE, ENS, and Puffer, among others. Most tokens, except for Puffer, have been unlocked with no selling pressure. Puffer has a strong background, supported by numerous giants and the Ethereum Foundation, and although its market cap is only $600 million, it represents a value opportunity and has a high probability of being listed on Binance. The next three months may belong to the Ethereum ecosystem. AAVE, a leader in Dubai, has a strong trend and is unaffected by the broader market, rising 30% in two days.
FTX will pay $160 on January 3rd, completing repayment within 60 days. This $16 billion also represents significant good news for the crypto world.
January 20th marks Trump's inauguration.
Elon Musk will assume the position of Minister of Intelligence, and Dogecoin will also have speculative hotspots.
