Expedited process
During the Hong Kong Fintech Week, Ye Zhiqiang, executive director of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission's intermediary agency, said that more cryptocurrency licenses are expected to be issued by the end of this year. He also revealed that there are 14 VATP applications currently being processed. Overall, there are currently seven licensed exchanges in Hong Kong, including OSL, HashKey and HKVAX.
