According to ChainCatcher, as reported by Cointelegraph, the Malaysian securities regulator has listed the Web3 wallet service Atomic Wallet among the financial companies prohibited from operating in the country, due to its 'unauthorized operation of a digital asset exchange (DAX)'.
The regulator did not provide further clarification on this matter, but it is worth noting that Atomic Wallet suffered a hacking incident in 2023, resulting in losses exceeding $100 million and subsequently becoming the subject of multiple lawsuits.
Currently, Atomic Wallet has been blacklisted along with several other cryptocurrency-related companies that have been banned from operating in Malaysia by the Malaysian Securities Commission, such as Crypto Trade Malaysia and Best Exchange.
