The team behind Unichain, a second-layer Ethereum solution from the decentralized exchange Uniswap, has announced the launch of the mainnet in early 2025.
The project was presented in October. Since its launch on the Sepolia testnet, the protocol has processed over 50 million transactions and deployed over 4 million smart contracts.
The L2 solution is built in the Superchain ecosystem by Optimism, based on the OP Stack technology stack.
Uniswap Labs, the company behind the leading DEX, provides the main technical support and operates the Unichain Sequencer. The Uniswap Foundation is funding the development.
On January 6, 2025, the team will conduct a scheduled upgrade of the Unichain testnet to implement Permissionless Fault Proofs technology. It is expected that this error protection mechanism, which does not require third-party involvement, will work on the mainnet from the very beginning.
Soon after the launch, Unichain will integrate Flashbots' Rollup-Boost block builder, which uses a trusted execution environment to streamline transactions, increase their speed, and prevent failures.#2024withBinance #2024Crypto #2025Outlook
