ChainCatcher Message, Binance co-founder Zhao Changpeng stated yesterday on X, "Recently, I have seen some people receiving cryptocurrency by accepting private keys or hardware wallets. This is a bad idea because the giver still retains access to that cryptocurrency. It is better to transfer the cryptocurrency to an address that you own, or better yet, just let the giver send it to an address that you own. Letting two people access the same private key (or mnemonic phrase) is a bad idea. When these cryptocurrencies are moved (or hacked), it is almost impossible to prove who moved it (or was hacked)."
