Odaily Planet Daily News Recently, a document shows that shortly before being included in the Nasdaq 100 Index on Monday, MicroStrategy added three members to its board of directors, bringing the total number of board members to nine. The document indicates that the new board members include Brian Brooks, Jane Dietze, and Gregg Winiarski, all of whom have worked at major companies dealing with digital assets. Each board member will receive equity worth $2 million, half in options and half in RSUs, which will vest over four years. Specifically, Brian Brooks served as the CEO of Binance.US from May 2021 to August 2021. From September 2018 to March 2020, Brooks also served as the Chief Legal Officer of Coinbase. Other experience includes serving as Acting Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) from April 2020 to January 2021, the agency responsible for overseeing banks' digital asset-related activities. From October 2021 to December 2022, Brooks also served as the CEO of the Bitcoin mining company Bitfury. Jane Dietze has been the Chief Investment Officer of Brown University since July 2018, responsible for managing the Ivy League school's $7.2 billion endowment fund. Since February 2022, Dietze has also been a board member of Galaxy Digital, a digital asset company founded by Mike Novogratz. Finally, Gregg Winiarski has served as Chief Legal Officer of the sports apparel and collectibles company Fanatics since February 2023. Winiarski served as a senior advisor to Fanatics from August 2021 until taking the top legal position in February 2023, and like the other new board members, he holds a degree from an Ivy League school.
