The CEO of Tether, Paolo Ardoino, announced that the company will invest $775 million in the Canadian video hosting platform Rumble. This platform positions itself as one of the main competitors to YouTube.
"Tether deeply believes in the fundamental values of freedom of speech and financial freedom," Ardoino wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
Rumble was founded in 2013 by entrepreneur Chris Pavlowski. The company provides video hosting and cloud storage services, and its creator is known for his conservative political views.
Pavlowski has repeatedly criticized YouTube for censoring content, and in 2021 he sued Google Corporation. According to Rumble, the company manipulated search queries to give its video hosting an illegal advantage.
Paolo Ardoino stated that Pavlowski and his team created a modern and progressive platform. According to the CEO of Tether, he looks forward to starting collaboration with representatives of Rumble.#2024withBinance
