The Omni Network team announced the launch of the Omni Core mainnet, the base layer of the Omni Orderflow Engine. It includes a cross-chain messaging protocol and an EVM secured by Ethereum network solutions through restaking.

The proliferation of Ethereum rollups resulted in $58 billion in TVL being scattered across over 40 networks, creating significant challenges for both users and developers. The Omni Protocol was created to unify the ecosystem, allowing users and developers to seamlessly interact with Ethereum as if it were a single, unified network.

The Ethereum roadmap focused on rollups was a necessary step for scalability, but it has made the ecosystem fragmented and disconnected, noted Omni Labs co-founder and CEO Austin King.

At Omni, we have created a solution that restores the unity of Ethereum by simplifying cross-rollup interactions and providing a seamless user experience. The launch of the Omni mainnet is just the beginning; we aim for any action to be completed in one second or less.

Omni Core supports instant seamless compatibility between Ethereum-compatible mainnets, including Ethereum L1, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base, which accounts for over 90% of the total value locked across the Ethereum ecosystem.
