Bitfinex hacker makes first public statement since arrest, denies speculation his father was involved in the theft

According to Foresight News, Bitfinex hacker Ilya Lichtenstein released a five-minute video on X, his first public statement since his arrest in 2022. The video reiterated that he was a hacker and that he acted alone, denying speculation in a Netflix documentary that his father (or perhaps a spy agency, possibly Russia) might have been involved in the theft.
