Meta fined 251 million euros for data leak in 2018 🚫
The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) has fined Meta 251 million euros for a data leak that affected 29 million Facebook accounts, including 3 million in the EU/EEA. The DPC found that Meta violated the GDPR in several areas, including notification of breaches and the lack of design of systems with data protection principles.
