According to Deep Tide TechFlow news, on December 18, Zilliqa announced that it will launch the 2.0 version of the mainnet Agate in the first quarter of 2025, and the Aventurine prototype mainnet has currently been launched for testing. The new version will migrate from the current consensus mechanism to a Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanism, supporting full state migration of Scilla and EVM smart contracts.
The Aventurine testing phase will provide users with features such as a staking portal test, developer dApp compatibility verification, and validator node configuration. Users can connect to the staking portal through an EVM wallet and choose validators for staking. The Zilliqa team stated that the extended testing period aims to ensure the stability and security of the network migration while providing ample adaptation time for ecosystem participants.
