On December 19th, which is tomorrow, the Federal Reserve will announce its latest interest rate decision. The market generally believes they will cut rates by 25 basis points, which will be the third rate cut this year. Basically, everyone thinks this rate cut is a done deal, and the focus is instead on what Federal Reserve Chairman Powell will say. He may hint that the pace of future rate cuts will slow down, or even come to a halt.
