Tim Scott, Republican Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, has highlighted cryptocurrencies as the next global marvel. Scott has committed to establishing a branch dedicated to cryptocurrencies within his committee and will be the inaugural chair of the newly formed subcommittee on Digital Assets. Both chambers of the committee and the administration of President-elect Donald Trump are aligned in their efforts to advance legislation in this area. Two legislative initiatives are at the forefront of these efforts: the Financial Innovation and Technology Act of the 21st Century (FIT21) and a bill on stablecoins.
