According to PANews on December 17, a memorandum submitted on December 11 postponed the next pre-trial hearing for the cryptocurrency mixing service Samourai Wallet from December 17 to March 12, 2025, a delay of 90 days. The trial date has been set for November 3, 2025.

Since the last pre-trial conference held in a U.S. court on September 17, 2024, the government submitted the third and fourth batches of evidence materials on September 23 and October 21, 2024, respectively. Despite encryption issues, the government replicated the first and second batches of evidence and provided them to developer Keonne Rodriguez on November 6, 2024. The fifth batch of evidence, containing data extracted from seized devices, is expected to be submitted within seven days.

The memorandum shows that the FBI team is reviewing a total of 45 devices seized from developers Keonne Rodriguez and William Lonergan Hill to search for confidential materials, and plans to release the remaining data before early 2025. So far, 17 TB of data (more than half of the total) has been shared, and more data will be released before the trial. At a recent hearing, the defense for Samourai Wallet compared the amount of evidence materials to '75% of the Library of Congress's collection,' and the thickness of the printed paper is equivalent to traveling to the moon and back 22 times.

Earlier news from April reported that the co-founder of the cryptocurrency mixing service Samourai Wallet was arrested and charged with money laundering.
