ChainCatcher reported that according to Cointelegraph, the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided a cryptocurrency fraud center in Lagos on December 10 and arrested 792 suspects, including 148 Chinese citizens and 40 Filipino citizens.
According to Ken Gamble, co-founder of cybercrime investigation company IFW Global, the fraud gang provided Nigerian employees with a monthly salary of $500 and performance commissions, which is 10 times the local minimum wage. The investigation showed that the Chinese criminal group was responsible for providing technology, infrastructure and financial support, mainly targeting North American and European users to implement "pig killing" fraud.
