BlockBeats reported on December 17 that the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided a cryptocurrency scam center in Lagos on December 10, arresting 792 suspects, including 148 Chinese nationals and 40 Filipino nationals.
According to Ken Gamble, co-founder of the cybercrime investigation company IFW Global, this scam gang offers Nigerian employees a monthly salary of $500 plus performance bonuses, which is 10 times the local minimum wage. Investigations show that a Chinese crime group is responsible for providing technical support, infrastructure, and funding, primarily targeting users in North America and Europe with 'pig butchering' scams.
