EigenLayer, the leading restaking protocol of Ethereum, has just announced the second EigenLayer Improvement Proposal (ELIP-002). 🌟

- ELIP-002 introduces a "slashing" penalty mechanism along with two new concepts: Unique Stake and Operator Sets. These features help Application Verification Services (AVSs) enforce reliable commitments by penalizing operators who fail to fulfill their obligations.

- The slashing mechanism prevents operational errors such as calculation mistakes or service interruptions. Unique Stake allows for the allocation of separate stakes, applying penalties based on the severity of the violation. Operator Sets help manage the operator group, simplifying the enforcement of rules.

- ELIP-002 upgrades the EigenLayer ecosystem, strengthening user trust in its decentralized architecture. EigenLayer also commits 1% of the EIGEN token supply to the Protocol Guild, supporting Ethereum Layer 1 research. 🚀
