Report: Trump's advisors are considering launching air strikes on Iran by Arab Trader
The American Wall Street Journal published a report on Friday morning - citing some of its sources familiar with the matter - stating that the team of advisors to US President-elect Donald Trump is currently studying more options to pressure Iran to stop its nuclear program.
According to the newspaper's report, Trump's advisors have expressed concern that economic pressure alone on the Iranian government may not be enough to deter it from completing its nuclear weapons program, and indicated that military measures may be necessary, as it may include preventive air strikes.
This comes in the wake of recent events in Syria and the fall of the government of the former regime led by Bashar al-Assad for more than 23 years at the hands of Syrian opposition forces. The Wall Street Journal reported that some members of Trump's team have begun to review military operations against Iranian nuclear facilities as an option more seriously.
However, the American newspaper indicated that all discussions between Trump's team are still in their early stages at the present time, but it reported that one of its sources stated that Trump had told the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation government in Palestine, Benjamin Netanyahu, that he fears that Iran will be able to produce a nuclear weapon under his term.
