On December 9, Google presented Willow, its new quantum chip, which has sparked debates about its potential impact on Bitcoin security. This chip has the capability to solve a mathematical problem in 5 minutes, a time that would surpass the 10 septillion years it would take a classical supercomputer. Willow is composed of 105 qubits and it is expected that, over time, its improved versions will be able to reduce errors exponentially.
