According to reports, the Jingde County People's Court in Anhui recently concluded a case involving the organization and leadership of pyramid schemes related to virtual currency. Seven individuals, including Li, Xiang, and Huang, colluded with Xu under the guise of investing in virtual currencies and related projects, requiring participants to purchase and hold virtual currencies, cards, and other means to qualify for membership. They organized a hierarchical structure in a specific order and used the number of downline participants, the amount of virtual currency purchased by downline participants, and other factors as the basis for rebates. This enticed participants to continue recruiting others, defrauding a total of over 964,300 USDT (approximately 6.39 million RMB). The involved individuals, including Li, Xiang, Huang, and others, were each sentenced to imprisonment ranging from two to three years, with probation and fines imposed.
