According to economist Leonardo Soto, #Venezuela receives US$5.000 million annually in remittances, but only US$1.000 million enters through formal channels. Soto claims that Venezuelan migrants send an average of US$60 monthly to their relatives. To give an idea of the magnitude of the remittances, the Venezuelan state alone liquidated more than US$5.000 million in the currency market this year.
