BlockBeats reported on December 12 that, according to TheBlock, the decentralized internet connectivity platform Uplink has officially launched on the Avalanche blockchain, becoming the first decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) project on Avalanche.

Uplink aims to promote the decentralization of internet connectivity by incentivizing users to share existing networks and deploy new infrastructure, especially in areas with inadequate network services. The Uplink application is set to launch in 2025 to verify router locations and support users in sharing real internet connections, while also releasing innovative features and launching a Layer 1 testnet on Avalanche.
