'a.k.a. What can save you, our shared Bitcoin.'
From the perspective of currency attributes, Bitcoin indeed cannot fulfill its role. But one must admit that crypto aims to accomplish some disruptions, which is never an easy task. Sometimes it requires leveraging all powers, whether those powers are good or bad. Since the SEC approved the listing of Bitcoin spot ETFs, Bitcoin has gradually become a plaything of Wall Street capital and politicians, far from its original mission of becoming a 'decentralized currency'.
But from another perspective, the media effect triggered by Bitcoin's price exceeding $100,000 has already made crypto and decentralization successfully enter the mainstream public's view.
The rise of Bitcoin above 100,000 not only relies on the power of decentralized communities but is also intertwined with many other interest groups, even the Wall Street capital that decentralization seeks to disrupt. It is hard to say who borrowed power from whom.
From the standpoint of crypto, this is a successful marketing event for 'decentralization' achieved through the power of capital. But from the perspective of capital or politicians, it might be another story.
Crypto is still very immature. But many of the innovations and ideas it proposes, such as decentralization, sovereignty, and privacy protection, are issues that must be taken seriously in society.
Leveraging development, or to put it more bluntly, serving 'evil', should be a very distinct feature of the crypto industry. This distinct feature should trace back to the ancestor Bitcoin.
The idealistic decentralization of Bitcoin is supported by very primitive token incentives. The earliest mainstream applications of Bitcoin were also through black markets and illegal activities, including the later infamous ICOs, and even today's memes.
'Justice' or 'evil' may be a set of synonyms.
The crypto industry is very interesting, with many idealists wanting to change the world, and also those purely aiming to deceive and profit from the industry. More interestingly, these 'bad people' who purely seek to deceive through the industry inadvertently promote its growth and development through their misdeeds.
Even the foul-smelling memecoins that have grown wildly due to human greed and the current social capital system's corrupt loopholes are, to some extent, an expression of 'financial nihilism', even a form of 'anger' and 'rebellion'.
There is always a voice in the industry that calls for returning to the source and developing in a traditional way. But behind tradition, one must not ignore the rules of the world's operation. The greed, desires, and dissatisfaction inherent to human nature—these 'evil' words—are a form of natural selection, driving humanity and society to evolve and continuously progress.
It is intertwined with survival.
Sometimes, defeating evil requires you to become more evil than evil itself. But what exactly is evil? Or what kind of evil is more evil? After seeing the exposed wrongdoing of seemingly upright individuals in the Lolita Island incident, blatant 'evil' seems to be more upright than the obscured justice.
Another more important question is how to understand 'evil'.
Or perhaps, behind the world's advancement, we should consider how to achieve compatibility, parallelism, or balance.
And this is precisely what crypto wants to achieve:
'to build a reliable distributed system on top of unreliable infrastructure.'
In this context, perhaps 'evil' and 'justice' have never been opposites but a set of synonyms that rely on each other to achieve fulfillment.
Perhaps crypto can serve as a container for 'evil' and 'justice' to progress hand in hand.
Does logic really exist?
The development of many things is hard to explain through logic, especially when things considered unfathomable by the public become reality.
But what exactly is unfathomable or absurd? What is logical?
Does what seems logical really make sense? Are some things that seem unfathomable really absurd? What forces are driving the development of the unfathomable?
For example, some people find it absurd to view tokens as money. But from a taxation perspective, seeing the chain as a country and tokens as money is not without reason, as it involves why fiat currency can become a universal currency. Scholars believe the reason fiat currency circulates widely is due to the taxation system based on its form.
But does what seems logical really make sense? Or does this logic still fit the current scenario? For instance, must currency have the functions of SoV, UoV, and/or MoE? Does the account necessarily need to be priced in a stable currency? What is the significance of SoV? Will the future SoV still take the form of currency?
Or is crypto necessarily decentralized?
Are we ignoring something more important?
I don't know. But I believe we can't just focus on TPS, UX, DX, composability, or even decentralization. This is also why I like Cosmos, and why I like Anoma; Cosmos is based on Sovereignty, and Anoma's starting point is to reconstruct collaborative mechanisms—hence it proposes 'intention', which is the pivot for human collaboration.
But I also feel that a straightforward approach is hard to truly solve problems; being too focused can make one overlook the 'gifts' that 'God' sends, which often come in misunderstood forms, just like memecoins, requiring us to feel without bias.
Yes, I am saying we need to feel 'evil', where the key to unlocking the puzzle may be hidden.
Is some accuracy important? Yes. But compared to other things, it doesn't seem so important.
Sometimes, these inexplicable things are often referred to as 'art', or 'intuition', or 'impulse', which usually conflicts with rationality; if not handled well, they can sometimes be interpreted as 'foolishness'.
But this is a power stronger than reason, an energy that erupts from within.
Humans are the product of reason and logic; humanity stands proudly at the top of the food chain because of thinking, rationality, and logic. But do not forget those primal impulses that support our survival; they have facilitated one meaningful moment after another in our lives, and they are precious—please cherish them.
To some extent, the spirit of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency contains a great primal impulse and is highly controversial. But the controversies also represent many affirmations behind it. Perhaps there are many scams cloaked in idealism, but you have to admit that its original intention and vision are good and upright. For new forces facing enormous resistance that still want to achieve disruption, you must seize every power you can grasp.
When the grand path is blocked, you have to 'walk the crooked path'.
Is some accuracy important? Yes. But compared to other things, it doesn't seem so important.
When tools and resources lag behind and cannot keep pace with the speed of other power developments, how do you catch up? The only choice is to ignore the rules and not hit the brakes. Ride the wind, grow through mistakes, and continuously correct the path.
Some see negativity, but you must know that this is power; all you need to do is harness it.
I understand the development of crypto as a beast that devours all powers without hitting the brakes.
But this beast always has an anchor, or a vision.
It's hard to describe what this vision specifically is, but you know this vision will guide crypto, becoming the helmsman of crypto amidst the mud, chaos, and fog, leading the way.
Sometimes you don't need to understand the existing rules; just push for what is right.
How to save you, as the bearer of hope, the Bitcoin that carries the anticipation of crypto.
When Bitcoin broke through $100,000, it had already completed its mission. Although it is the enlightenment and faith of the entire crypto, it now seems to have only scarcity left. Because the decentralized chips have not been well allocated, it is hard to say whether it will ultimately become a plaything.
If Bitcoin ultimately ends up being just a plaything of capital like stocks, then from the perspective of crypto, it would hold no significance.
Originally, I thought there should be a new and fairer token/NFT or any form to commemorate Satoshi and Bitcoin.
But I think Bitcoin will always be Bitcoin; it cannot be replaced by any token. What we should do more is to initiate a big cake rescue plan.
Enlightenment should not be forgotten and should not be reduced to a plaything. No token can be more symbolic than Bitcoin. And symbolism has never been something empty; it is very important.
What does it have to do with all of us?
We have been trapped in powerless rules for too long, to the point of forgetting that we are also the most solid part of this society.
The description of the vast majority is often 'a mob'. It seems that 'a mob' is merely a group that is fooled and used or can only produce negative effects. But within every 'mob', there exists a personal moral compass. Do not let reality and rules swallow your inner sense of justice. Do not let yourself truly descend into being 'a mob'.
What kind of world do you hope this world will become? This question is important for every individual's will, as it forms the foundation of strong power. What we need to do is protect this foundation, so that even if other interest parties leverage it, the final benefits are still composed of our shared vision.
In the end, may we create miracles.
I also wish the world well, that we have the courage to face our true selves, that we can become increasingly resilient, that all beings can find that moment that lights up their lives, and that all beings have autonomy.
