Entrepreneur Mike Novogratz believes that the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, is not alive at the moment. This is one of the most common theories about the fate of the expert who designed the most popular cryptocurrency. As you might expect, the more time passes, the more likely this is to be the case.
During a recent interview with CNBC, the entrepreneur shared this point of view on the fate of the anonymous character. He also said that the current rally of the queen cryptocurrency would have made its creator happy.
“ If he were alive (which I don’t think he is) I’m sure he would have a big smile on his face right now ,” the entrepreneur said, referring to BTC’s recent surge to $103.9K. On the other hand, the Galaxy founder added that Bitcoin is a great example of a coalition of people working towards something spectacular.
It is important to note that Novogratz is one of the most committed entrepreneurs to the development and expansion of the crypto market. For years, he has been working to ensure that the sector has a strong presence in the lives of millions of people. The expert believes that Satoshi Nakamoto's creation is one of the greatest inventions in the history of humanity.
Will we never know who Satoshi Nakamoto is?
The fact that in more than 15 years no one has a clue about the real identity of the mysterious creator of Bitcoin is intriguing. Since the digital currency gained popularity, dozens of people have dedicated themselves to the task of trying to find the human being behind the pseudonym. However, all attempts have so far been unsuccessful.
Some of the likely theories point to people who have already passed away, such as Hal Finney, while other assumptions do not fit in many ways. The most recent case is that of engineer Peter Todd, 39, who was pointed out by an HBO documentary to be Nakamoto. However, the latter categorically denies this possibility.
In any case, the vast majority of Bitcoiners believe that it is better not to know who the creator of the currency is. The revelation of the identity of the developer could greatly shake the markets, considering his possession of more than one million BTC. For Novogratz, Satoshi Nakamoto will never be a face that can be pointed at.
The expert stresses that Nakamoto's original intention was to create a payment system. Nevertheless, his currency has achieved the status of a store of value and many companies view it as such.
At the time of writing, the price of Bitcoin is $98,547 per unit. After reaching $103.9K on Thursday, the coin experienced a sharp retreat to $92K. Such volatility could trigger further capital inflows and lead the price to a new attempt to establish itself above $100,000.
