When the Market makers See liquidity running out of the market, they do 1 of 2 things:
1- they either drive the asset price even higher to lure greedy people to buy at premium price.
2- they drop their bag and sell, causing huge drop in the asset price, and even when they do this, they don't do it all at once as this might hurt their portfolio or lower their profits, they do it in portions, so that ordinary people would think that a reversal "upward" is going to happen now and they start buying from them.
