According to Techub News and reported by Cointelegraph, Jorge Tenreiro, the acting head of the SEC's cryptocurrency and cyber unit, updated his title on his LinkedIn profile this month to Chief Litigation Counsel of the SEC, responsible for overseeing the agency's enforcement litigation and investigation efforts.

Tenreiro joined the department in October 2022 as Deputy Director, succeeding the former Director David Hirsch who left the department in June. During his tenure, he led several lawsuits by the SEC against the cryptocurrency industry, including exchanges Kraken and Coinbase, Tron and its founder Justin Sun, as well as years-long legal disputes with Ripple Labs.
