New Polkadot Developer Course in Europe
Polkadot Blockchain Academy (PBA) has announced that a new developer course will commence in March 2025 at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) in Switzerland. This marks the academy's return to Europe after more than two years.
The courses will be part of the Zug Blockchain Initiative in collaboration with HSLU's Blockchain Lab. The program aims to teach practical skills for working with Polkadot technology and developing web3 applications.
Expert Instructors and Course Content
Renowned experts, including Dr. Gavin Wood, the founder of Polkadot, will lead the program. Students will gain comprehensive blockchain education, equipping them to become innovators in the rapidly evolving field of blockchain engineering.
The course is designed not only for experienced blockchain developers but also for those transitioning from web2 to web3. It covers a wide range of topics, from blockchain fundamentals to advanced concepts.
Rigorous Admission Process
Due to high demand, applicants must go through a strict selection process:
Blockchain Fundamentals Test: A multiple-choice test will evaluate the applicant’s understanding of blockchain basics.
Programming Task: Candidates must complete a practical assignment.
Interview: A personal interview will assess motivation and readiness.
To support less experienced candidates, Polkadot has created an online school, PBA-X, providing resources to prepare for the admission process.
Free Participation and New Technical Tracks
Polkadot Treasury will cover the costs of the course, accommodation, and half-board for approximately 100 selected developers. Cohort 6 will offer two new technical tracks:
Off-chain Track Dapps: Focused on building decentralized applications outside the blockchain.
On-chain Track: Advanced learning about Polkadot's protocol.
The courses will be held in Rotkreuz, Zug, equipping students with the tools needed to navigate the rapidly changing world of decentralized technologies.
