🪙 Solana is becoming deflationary thanks to Pump Fun!
While Solana traditionally grows at ~7% per year, there’s one interesting aspect that makes it potentially more deflationary. How many Pump Fun tokens have we seen over time? Turns out, almost 99.69% of them are either worthless now or have long been inactive.
In other words, Solana that was invested in these tokens is essentially "gone" and will never be withdrawn from circulation.
Currently, there are 474.8 million Solana tokens in circulation, of which 58.1 million (~$13 billion) are permanently locked in Pump Fun! That’s already 12% of the total Solana supply.
So, if we add the annual inflation of ~7%, it means these 12% of locked tokens are essentially creating a natural barrier against the "devaluation" of the coin.
Solana is becoming more and more deflationary! 🚀
