Scammers are increasingly impersonating Binance and sending SMS messages to users, falsely claiming that there are security issues with their accounts (such as abnormal API activity or other urgent issues). Their goal is to create panic and anxiety, manipulating users into taking action that benefits the scammers.
How the Scam Works:
1. Fake Security Alerts: Scammers send SMS messages pretending to be from Binance, urging users to act immediately due to alleged security issues with their accounts.
2. TrustWallet Scam: In these messages, scammers provide a TrustWallet address and its seed phrase, claiming that transferring funds to this wallet will protect users’ assets. However, the wallet is under the scammers’ control. Once users transfer their funds, the scammers can access the wallet and steal the assets using the seed phrase.
3. Instant Theft: The scam is designed for quick theft. Once the user sends funds to the provided wallet, the scammers instantly have full access to the funds, and users are left with no recourse.
How to Protect Yourself:
Do Not Respond to Unsolicited Messages: Binance will never send SMS messages or reach out via unofficial channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.) to ask you to transfer funds or take urgent action.
Verify Information: If you receive a message claiming to be from Binance, always verify its authenticity by contacting Binance customer support directly through the official Binance website or app.
Do Not Transfer Funds: Be extremely cautious if you're asked to transfer funds to a different wallet, especially one you’ve never used before. Binance will never ask you to move your funds to another wallet for “security purposes.”
Check for Red Flags:
Urgent or alarming language designed to make you act quickly.
Requests for you to send funds to unfamiliar wallets or share sensitive information.
Communications outside of official Binance channels.
Report Suspicious Activity: If you encounter any suspicious message, report it immediately to Binance’s customer service through official channels.

Binance will never ask you to transfer funds to an external wallet via SMS or other unofficial communication methods.
Always use official Binance channels (website, app, or customer support) to verify any messages you receive.
