The Jasper proto-testnet phase for Zilliqa 2.0 has ended as we approach the launch of the next phase of the Zilliqa 2.0 roadmap - the Aventurine proto-mainnet and proto-testnet.

As of 29 November 2024, the Jasper testnet will be sunsetted. Users and developers are encouraged to begin transitioning their testing and development activities to the Aventurine networks once available.

The conclusion of the Jasper phase sets the stage for the upcoming rollout of the Aventurine release for Zilliqa 2.0, which will comprise a new proto-testnet and a proto-mainnet network that will import the history of the current Zilliqa testnet and mainnet to serve as a powerful testbed for developers as we lay the groundwork for full mainnet migration to Zilliqa 2.0.

As the very first public testnet of the Zilliqa 2.0 blockchain, Jasper offered a chance to try out the efficient new Proof-of-Stake consensus offered by the new protocol, as well as giving developers the opportunity to test out the implementation of their dApps on the new, native EVM network.

The technical launch of the Aventurine networks is expected next week and will be followed by a public release, although this target may be adjusted based on final tests conducted by the core engineering team.Aventurine will serve as a robust test environment, introducing a number of improvements on the previous Jasper release and laying essential groundwork for a seamless transition to Zilliqa 2.0 upon mainnet launch with the following Agate release.

We extend our gratitude to the Zilliqa community for your invaluable contributions during the Jasper phase. Your feedback and participation have been key to refining our vision.

We also want to thank the validators who participated in network consensus on Jasper, and we encourage both old and new validators to join and proto-mainnet with the launch of Aventurine.

Should you need any assistance during this transition, please reach out to the Zilliqa team directly, or you can join the conversation on Discord and Telegram.
