Testing of Monei's Digital Euro: The fintech Monei has successfully passed the 'sandbox' tests of the Bank of Spain for its stablecoin EURM, which allows the sending of euros through a token pegged 1:1 to the euro. Now, Monei is seeking partnerships with financial entities to enable the offering of its stablecoin.
Expiration Date of the Euro: Economist Santiago Becerra, known as Niño Becerra, has suggested that the digital euro could be closer than we think and become a reality in a few years. The digital euro project includes the creation of an application for citizens to make payments with a card or their mobile phone without needing to be linked to any bank.
