On November 28, BlockBeats reported news from Bloomberg that a former executive of Binance Holdings Ltd. is suing the cryptocurrency exchange in the UK. The former executive, Amrita Srivastava, claims that a colleague asked customers for bribes in order to give them preferential treatment. She states that she was unfairly fired after raising concerns about the alleged bribery.
Srivastava says that the colleague charged fees for “providing consulting services” to speed up connections between clients and Binance, while pretending not to be an employee of the company. The colleague is no longer with the company. Binance’s lawyers claim that the company was aware of the incident and that she lost her job due to poor performance.
Binance says that the decision to terminate her employment was made before her concerns about the issue were raised and that the matter is being investigated by their internal audit team.
