Stacks Developer: sBTC has completed the testnet phase, with the mainnet's first phase planned for launch on December 16

Foresight News reports that Stacks developer Andre Serrano has announced the launch plan for sBTC, with the sBTC testnet phase completed; the mainnet's first phase is expected to launch on December 16, 2024, which will introduce the ability for users to deposit BTC and mint sBTC, and early depositors will be eligible to participate in the sBTC reward program; the mainnet's second phase will launch 6-8 weeks after the first phase (between February 1 and 15, 2025), unlocking sBTC withdrawals, allowing users to exchange sBTC for BTC. The specific timing for the mainnet's third phase is not yet determined, which will open a signer set, gradually forming a fully decentralized, open, and permissionless signer set.
