According to media reports, investor and entrepreneur Marc Andreessen, hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, and former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick will hold positions in the newly created organization. Musk's friends and leaders from Silicon Valley, particularly Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, are also involved in planning the activities of DOGE.
It is expected that the new department will use executive powers and the legal system to reduce federal regulations, expenses, and personnel, and optimize government management.
