Odaily Planet Daily News This week, Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank (NEObank) began offering security tokens to its 7.7 million banking customers. This is part of a collaboration with Mitsui & Co. Digital Asset Management, which launched a direct-to-consumer security token service, Alterna, last year. Alterna was launched in mid-2023 and quickly partnered with another online bank, Sony Bank. Subsequently, it collaborated with department store operator J Front Retailing, which provides JFR membership cards. As part of the collaboration, JFR cardholders can invest in Alterna in batches.
