According to ChainCatcher, Tornado Cash developer Alexey Pertsev will continue to be detained while awaiting trial, according to Cointelegraph. Pertsev recently posted on X that he was disappointed with the court's decision to extend his detention, believing that it hindered his ability to prepare an appeal.

Previously, several Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives asked Treasury officials to answer questions about the handling of the cryptocurrency mixing service Tornado Cash, which was sanctioned in 2022 but is still in operation. The lawmakers emphasized that the use of the mixer has "recovered" this year, accepting $1.8 billion in deposits in the first half of 2024, an increase of 45% compared to the whole of 2023.
