The decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket announced that it would suspend French users from accessing its platform due to a gambling compliance investigation by France’s National Gambling Authority (ANJ). The investigation originated from a French trader placing large bets on Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S.
presidential election. Despite implementing an IP ban, users can still access the platform through VPN. Polymarket has not yet updated their Terms of Service with the relevant restrictions.
