Wood, who heads the equity investment strategy development department, started buying bitcoins in 2020 when the price of the coin was $22,779. He included cryptocurrency in his long-term investment portfolio, created in 2002, and began selling gold to acquire digital assets. This strategy worked because since Christopher's purchase, BTC has increased in value more than four times, while the price of gold has increased less than twice during this period.
Wood invested 10% of his capital in bitcoins and after the release of the BTC-ETF in the US, invested 5% of his financial resources in a cryptocurrency-based exchange fund. Thus, bitcoin and its derivatives account for 15% of Christopher's portfolio, but he plans to reduce this figure by disposing of digital assets.
