Odaily Planet Daily News: According to people familiar with the matter, U.S. banks such as Goldman Sachs Group, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America are asking investors to disclose whether they plan to take on additional debt to invest in significant risk transfer (SRT) tools, as regulators review whether these tools pose a threat to financial stability. In recent months, investors will be asked this question when the promotion process starts. The authorities are currently warning investment companies that want to buy SRTs about using leverage. SRT is a transaction that helps banks sell the risks associated with their loan portfolios. Since the debt supplier will be another bank, to a certain extent, the credit risk is just transferred to another part of the financial system.
